Fishing Venice, La.

The fishing is still going good. The weather is finally getting conducive to offshore fishing. This past Monday Capt. Bob K. had the Swalm group. They wanted to stay close- by and target grouper and A.J.'s, instead of running after tuna and dolphin after one passenger starting getting a little green. The first several stops produced nothing but snapper so they went out a little deeper. They easily caught a limit of A.J.'s, one about 70lbs., a nice 80lb. Warsaw Grouper, along with a lot of snapper that were caught and released. The snapper season is going to be a quick one, but a good one. Tuna, snapper, marlin, wahoo, and dolphin will be the most targeted species for the next couple of months. The rip lines are starting to form nicely so it should be a good one this weekend. My suggestion is for you to get some of your friends or family together and head on down here to get in on some of the best offshore action on the Gulf Coast. The weather for Friday looks great and we have a boat open right now. Snapper season opens on Sunday and we still have two boats available for that, as well as a few days next week.
