Fishing Lodge Seadrift Port O'Connor Texas
Bull reds will use this current to their advantage as they hide in the rocks and guts of the passes, quickly striking at a passing meal. I have all the gear needed to land one of these majestic giants, which are mostly a catch and release fish, but with the proper measurements and a few good photos can be replicated into a mount and memory of a lifetime. When taking a trip to the pass I like to have three people on the boat, this allows the anglers enough room to manouver around the boat safely, because of the depth of water which is 30 to 50 feet and the speed of the current. But arangments can be made for four. Wind conditions do not seem to bother these fish, and it always seems that there is a protected pocket or bank to hide against. Wind and current conditions will always be watched closely before a bull red trip, to ensure the safety of the anglers. The best time to book one of these memorable trips is during an outgoing tide. A tide fluctuation of .6 feet of more is good. October is prime time for a bull red trip, because the weather patterns are still decently predictable, Thou these fish are still making there way through the passes in November as well. With a good tide and close eye on the weather, myself and Capt Chris Martin, will do our best to get you out there for a memorable trip! Capt Nathan Beabout 1-888-677-4868 www.BayFlatsLodge.com |
