Well, after a long windy while, the time finally arose to hit the ocean again! With Integrity and self esteem high we hit the inlet to be greeted by lake Atlantic! It really felt good to finally be back on the water again. The reality is it hasn’t been that long since our last trip, but during that time, all I want to do is fish! Fishing has really tought me a lot, not just about the ocean or anything to do with it, but even just about life. The oceans smart, maybe we should all listen to it more…I learned a lot today, as I do every trip. It’s this learning experience that I crave everyday when I am not fishing, and the will for that adrenalin rush that comes with that big fish that brings ever lasting memories, that has kept me fishing as long as I have, and will keep me fishing for life. ;-) Fishing’s like the most royal girl I ever had! Always trustworthy…

With the slick seas we hit the deep ledges starting about 45 miles out. Made good time cruising 40-45 mph on the way out comfortably! Got to the first ledge and after pudding around a little bite we found a few! Including this boy that I really thought was going to break something on my light rod! Weighed in at 23 pounds on a scale that’s a few pounds off…







Pulled off a few more nice grouper, and than the bite shut down. Fished hard with not much luck so we continued out to the 50 mile mark. Fished hard and long more and more with only a few pinkies, stud bass, and grunts coming into the boat. Also picked 2 mahi off a big school we stumbled upon! Oh and laughing our hinnies off watching the fishstalker play with this big boy on the 100 gram!



Finally towards the end of the day it turned back on! With fast action picking up grouper every drop. Ended the day late with a nice king mackerel on the light line! Wrapped it up with 8 grouper (also had a bunch of shorts and a keeper rock hind that had to be released), 2 mahi, a king mackerel, a few big Aj’s, grunts, bass, b-liners, pinkies, and sore arms as always!
