Wrightsville Beach 4/18/08

Hit the LS around 715AM with the rest of the fleet, caught blues for a while, no bonito. Decided to run up to Diver's, got about 3/4 of the way there and my GPS died, Im replacing my electronics and the new ones arent in yet, so I was stuck with my handheld. Ran back toward the beach and figured we would follow it back towards LS, but off Lee's Island, Leighs, however it is spelled, we came across a school of bonito, ended up with about 5 in the boat, school disappeared when some dolphin showed up. When back to the LS, didnt get into quite as many blues, only 3-4 vs. the 15-20 this morning. Saw Capt. Wirt's group hooking up with a good number of blues as he prowled around the deck with his camera. Came back in around 12.

Got to feel something pull, got some fish for dinner, I can not wait for my new electronics to be in the boat, and I am really loving this Contender!

Sounds like a great morning. Good to hear that meat is hitting the table. You're going to enjoy the year with the Contender.

Awesome report there capt.
I fished back waters at topsail because my big boat is still int he racks. We caught a few flounder and a few nice blues. Wish I could have been out there with you catching those bonito
