Its about that time for the MARTINIS HOOK A HOO RODEO out of Little River Inlet SC.
This years dates set for April 4th-12th, format to include Captains Choice of one day to fish. This format worked well last year considering weather and allowed smaller boats to fish without worry of bad weather.
Last years tournament saw two fish over 60 lbs weighed and one over 40lb with several thirties to round out the top group.
This years tourney pays out $15,000 plus calcuttas and prizes. TUNA, MAHI and WAHOO calcuttas available also.
Once again, the tourney will benefit the SHRINERS HOSPITALS of the CAROLINAS

Make this Tournament a "TO FISH" tourney this year!!
Just got word from a buddy that 5 Hoos were caught yesterday in 135 ft of water off of the SC/NC Coast. One was a92lb Slob with the other 4 ranging from 57lbs to 45lbs.
Said they were caught in 70 degree water around the 100/400 Line. Sounds like the the HOOS have showed up, just gota pick a window and watch for that temp on the structure.
Get out there and warm up for the Martinis HOOK A HOO RODEO in April!!
Go to www.oifc.com for more info on the local bite and www.martinisfinedining.com for info on the tournament.
Yesterday, while warming up for the MARTINIS HOOK A HOO RODEO, Jeff, Chance, Jimmy Martini and Eric Jordan caught the wahoo of a lifetime!
Fishing offshore out of Little River SC, the DIRTY MARTINI crew was dragging baits when the BLUE WATER CANDY JAG got smashed.
After a 30 minute knock down drag out, the BIG SOW came to the boat. Martini says he knew it was a nice fish but realized it was a bruiser when the fish rolled just off the corner, all he could see was the white of the fishes underside.
The fish then went under the boat and into the motors where the leader hung up in the props. Martini says he knew he had to get the fish now or it was over. He leaped the transome and stuck the big HOO between the motors. Realizing he couldnt swing the fish over the motors, he and the crew drug the Hoo through the transome door and onto the deck.
Then it sunk in what they had! The fish was over 6 ft long and had a 32 inch girth. Per the formula it weighed 92 lbs. Biggest yet he thought!
At the scales the true weight was realized. 101 lbs! Amazing fish!
Last night I went up and shot a picture of the beast with me holding it. Gives you an idea of the size when you consider my mass....Im 6'3" 310lbs.
Great warm up for the upcoming Martinis HOOK A HOO RODEO! Just proves what a great fishery we have offshore for these fish. Got o www.martinisfinedining.com for info on the tourney.
Couple of buddies made it offshore this past week for some Wahoo fishing and boy did they run into them. Said they caught 5 Hoos and a half dozen Blackfins with a few bonita. Had at least five cutoffs.
Looks like the big Hoos are mirroring the Blackfins. Find the Blackfins and the big hoos are there.
The tournament is coming on strong and it looks like at just the right time. Two of his fish were over 60 lbs.
Put the Martinis Hook a Hoo on your to fish Tourney this year before fuel goes thru the roof. Its fun and for a great cause!!
Martinis Hook A Hoo Rodeo wants to welcome MARK RAY of MARK RAY STUDIOS. Mark will showcase some of his talents at the captains meeting and will also be fishing the tournament. Be sure to say hello if you attend the Captains Meeting.
