Yesterday's Tuna! / Posted by: Kenneth Brown / 12/31/11
We spent Thursday running the Sirt Chaser for Capt. Barry Daniels and yesterday we had Rich and the guys on our boat. Thursday proved to be tough fishing. Several boats covered a lot of water and finally found a few yellowfins late in the trip. We ended up with several blackfins and one yellowfin for the day. Yesterday we started where the little bit of life was from the day before. Fishing was pretty sorry. By mid day we stopped and caught some bottom fish so our guys would have something to take home. Our last effort found us steaming down about 15 miles to look in one more place. It was a good move and we ended up catching a dozen yellowfins after 3:00 pm. A late day but a good pay off and classic winter fishing. More of a hunting game usually but great fishing once you find them. Thanks again for the patience and I hope you enjoy the fish. Happy New Year!
