This time of year, everything will be at the break, usually at 30 - 50 fathoms. That would mean runs of 55 - 60 nautical miles out of Topsail
By late May the dolphin will come inshore. During May and June gaffers can be caught in the 20 - 40 mile range with regularity (23 mile rock, Christmas rock, ARs and weed lines). An occasional tuna and wahoo will be caught in the same places. Good luck, SeaBiscuit |

Looks like a change in plans. I will be in the area in July now, but i am sure things are much closer in to shore by then. How far do you guys have to go out in the ocean to get on the mahi or tuna then??

No tunas in July. They are off Maryland by then. Should be some dolphin around. Could be anywhere beyond 5 or 10 miles.
