Question Tarpon fishing in SC?

A buddy and I are going to Charleston in the middle of August and were hoping for a little advice. We went last year to Georgetown but only caught a few big sharks.

We have the gear but struggle with catching bait as well as determining were to fish. We fished in between sand bars right after dead low-tide, is this somewhat accurate?

Thanks for any help.
