What can I say,.......the last several days has been awesome fishing. Offshore plenty of bailer dolphin, catching them on spinning rods with circle hooks, releasing most of them. Sailfish, White Marlin and Blue Marlin have invaded ALL of the offshore grounds lately, especially today. Probably over 60-70 shots at billfish today through out the charter fleet. Awesome,....just plain awesome. Inshore the TARPON have arrived, yes that's right, no need on going to Florida to target them. They started to show a little last week, however today was the official, that's right released two and jumped one. The first fish was 100-115 lb. class, the other was in the neighborhood of 75 lbs.. Sight fishing with 30 lb. spinning rods, don't get any better then that. Seen plenty of fish rolling and tailing. Heading back offshore tomorrow on the Contender, have one person in my charter. Mr. Martin Young, an avid fly fishermen. Going to attemp sailfish and whites on the fly. Will give you an update tomorrow evening. Thank you. Good fishing to all. Capt. That's right, there have been Tarpon in NC since the early 50's. The average size of these fish are in the medium to large class. Over the last 15 years fishing for them, I have yet to see a little one. Give me a shout or an email, they will be here typically through mid Aug. The next few weeks being the best of it. Capt. Brian.
Some offshore reports from today. One boat released 4 whites and 2 sails. Another boat release 4 sails 3 whites. Another boat went 1 for 6 on whites and also caught a sail. From what I heard, 8 blue marlin were seen, I believe two caught. Awesome fishing people! Capt. Brian.
