Quite a few anglers hit the ocean this morning for the last shot at summer flounder. First folks out I was quite apprehensive to get excited to send them out on the ocean. As it turns out, the weather was fantastic. Sea conditions were calm and it was easy running. I did not hear much happening, but I am sure that folks enjoyed a nice fall day on the water.
Snapper bluefish fishing continues to be real good. We sold quite a bit of minnows today to anglers just fishing the back creeks and right off the docks.
A big crowd continues to pick the blowfish out of the trough through the clam stakes on the Mystic Island side of the Fish Factory. Some real nice sea bass pushing nine inches are putting up quite a tug on the lines too; fun action for catching and releasing.

The last two days of overcast/rain have cut down on the quantity of anglers fishing. What we have heard was mostly tautog fishing on the sod banks. Not much else to report. No word on striped bass activity at this time. It should be starting any day now.
