Made it offshore this past Friday aboard the 36 Triton COVERED UP. Fished the BLACJACK. Started out in 140 ft and immediately had fish biting as we tried to put out baits. Musta stopped on top of school Kings, seemed like that was all we were seeing. Couldnt locate any salad stacked up or bait much.
Moved out deeper and started picking the Mahi. All were a good size of fish up to 30 lbs. Pulled two FRED ARCHER RUCKUS RAISERS off the corner flats and dropped a rigged bally behind each about 10 feet. Them two ballys were constantly getting smashed.
All day we watched as fish would appear under the rig and turn to smash the bally trieing to catch up. One time I glanced back and the RUCKUS RAISER was airborn about 6 ft. Dont know what launched it but immediately two outriggers and the planer rod went off with a wahoo and mahi being boated a few minutes later.
Hot colors were pink/white, blu/white, green/crystal.
Ended the day with 10 nice Mahi up to 30 lbs, 1 30lb wahoo and a few snake kings. Released several small p-nuts.
Nice day to be on the water. Came home in a hurry with them three Mercs shoving her.![]()
