Offshore some boats had lots of gaffer dolphin, some had lots of good size yellowfin tuna and some had a mixture of both. Sharks were active biting the rearends of a tuna or a dolphin here and there fortunately not many. One enormous hammerhead took a whole tuna in one gulp. It looked as if it would weigh well over a thousand pounds. Some pictures were taken while it was close to the boat. If I get a copy through email I will post it. A mako weighing 125 pounds was caught. There is a handsome game fish as stream lined as can be coming to a sharp point at the nose.. Two white marlin were caught and released. Marlin and sailfish airial displays present some terrific photo ops. With digital cameras the photographer can click away the more pictures taken the better the chances are of getting something spectacular. Inshore bottom fishing was great. In deeper water lots of tilefish, some sea bass, dolphin and amberjacks. Bottom fishing near structure closer in lots of triggerfish, some dolphin, seabass and cobias. One open boat had three big cobias another had a medium size cobia. Open boats fishing for speckled trout had a good day catching trout, flounders and bluefish. There were also some puppy drum caught. Miss Oregon Inlet caught triggerfish, flounders and croakers in the morning, triggerfish and flounders in the afternoon.
