Oregon Inlet Fishing Report 09/12/2009

OI Fishing Report submitted by doubl d

oi 9/12
whites were plentiful in 100 to 1500 fathoms on the 830 to the 875.There was a 70 to 73 degree change with a nice weed line. The dolphin were nuisance thick but small.Had a white come out with some bailers that tried to eat a ballyhoo head three times but didnt get the hook.We caught one white, jumped off one,and missed a triple.Charters had 5 to 15 releases on whites each, whith a sail or two and at least one blue.Birds were thick on the cutters and would not leave our baits alone.Be CAREFUL in the inlet as they are dredging an have unlit bouys the size of oil tanks, We hit one in the dark in the morning as did one of the charters but just lost some gell coat.

Action is still great. Hog Wild released 11 whites, and the Sea Toy had 10. Looks like we might get some more NE wind later in the week. We all know how those whites like that. The Haphazard has days open if anyone would like to get in on this great marlin bite.
