""Reel Quick"" | Tiberias - 22' | 03/07/11

Folded t-shirts until I couldn't stand it anymore today. I headed home for a quick break before CPR class tonight. I caught a second wind and realized I had about 2 hours to kill before class. What better way to pass the time? I decided to take a quick fishing trip. I hit the first creek and landed one little trout. I could have sworn a North wind was blowing when I entered that creek and landed that trout. Amazingly the wind switched straight out of the South that quick and not another bite in that creek. Wife called, so I needed to head back to the house. I couldn't stand it though, I hit one more spot on the way home. I got 4 bites and landed three of them reel quick! That is the way fishing can be sometimes. I love it! See ya on the water!

"What Fishn' Is All About" | Get Busy | 03/07/11

Brandon Sauls, ace in shore fisherman, the OIFC's webmaster, and fellow Crossfitter took his twins fishing this weekend aboard Brandon's new boat. I looks like the ladies struck it rich with the red drum.

""Local Legends"" | Tiberias - 22' | 03/05/11

Jake and I got on the water for a little while yesterday. Mommy needed a well deserved break from both of us. LOL! The first bank we hit, a small trout decided to get a little aggressive. Jake likes to ride, so we headed to another spot. We ran into local legend Clay Morphis Jr. He must have caught them all by the time we got there. We eased around looking in the water for any action. I saw one nice redfish cruise by the boat and a ton of 8 inch mullet. Jake's patience was running thin, so we headed back to house. Approaching our canal another local legend Brandon Sauls was loading his girls up in the boat. He posted pictures later on facebook showing off their success. Looks like the redfish were cooperating nicely for them. Purdy work! I am not sure when I will make it back out on the water, but I will keep you posted when I do. See ya on the water!

"Things opening all over the place" | OIFC World Cat / Carolina Cat | 03/05/11

Great news folks, the OIB boat ramp has reopened with a great new facelift. The most exciting part is that they paved the road to the actual ramp. No more beating your truck, trailer and boat going to launch. Speaking of openings, the Giggling Mackerel opened this weekend for the season. As always we are open. We have extended our hours Thursday through Sunday to better meet your needs. In addition, if the weather looks good for offshore fishing, we will open early on the weekends for those of you venturing offshore. Stop by, talk fishing, get excited and get geared up for the season. Now is the time to do your gear checks and replace that old stuff...
