Offshore Report for 4-20

Got a late start and it was real bummpy on the way out. Took us two and half hours to reach the Swansboro Hole. They called for 15-20 mph winds and 3-5 foot waves. However, they missed it again! The waves were at least 6-8 feet and it was very windy. Shortly after putting the lines in the water we had a big fish on an outrigger line. Fought the fish up to the boat and as I was about to gaff the tuna, he took off to the bottom and broke the line. That was the biggest fish of the day, 50+. Shortly after that we had 5 lines start screaming and a Chinese firll drill was on. We pulled the hook on one and had another wrap around motor and break off. We did get the other 3 in and they were nice size tuna. We picked up another small tuna and it was continuing to get more rough and one of my clients got sick so at 12 noon we pulled in the lines and headed home. For the time that we fished it was not a bad day just bad weather. I have already canceled a charter for this weekend and it is starting to get ridiculus. Maybe one day this wind will lay down and we can have a great day fishing. The tuna are there and they are thick, just have to get some decent weather. Hang in there everyone, better day are ahead.

What a Crew!
