Had a charter Thursday with some really nice folks from New Mexico. They were visiting their son that was stationed at Fort Bragg. We had a really nice day but the mother and father got sick. The father finally got a little better and was able to bring in one fish. Started at the 90 foot drop and fished to NE corner of Big Rock. Water temps were 74-75 degrees. The grass at the Rock was unreal, scattered and I have never seen so much. We had to get away from all the grass because we could not keep the lines in the water. A no good East wind was blowing and the grass could not line up. It was a slow day for all. Heard several charter captains complaining that they were going to stop trolling and start bottom fishing. Inspite of all that I thought we had a pretty good day. Our first fish was a nice king and then we managed to pick up 6 nice dolphin. We headed back in a little early because of my sick patrons but all in all a good day.
Nice dolphin for one of our finest just back from Iraq
