Hanging to the dock again today - Hurricane Katia has closed our the bar ...at least for us. Some of the marlin boats were going to give it a shot this morning - or at least go take a peek but Maxwell took a peek last night and he said he didn't want to wash out his curtains this morning! hehe - back in the blue tomorrow though. Tight Lines!

Point Runner and a few other charters were able to get across the bar at Oregon Inlet this morning for one more day of fishing before hurricane Katia made her pass near the NC coast. Mike Jenkins' crew was hoping to catch some meat to enjoy while on vacation and to take home to WV. Capt Greg was at the helm with Scott in the pit. Looks like a nice catch of mahi, some tuna bites and shark bites to enjoy. Greg told me three or four more tuna hooked that did not stay connected.
Thanks for checking in.

What a mess. My son Cameron and I left Hatteras Island on Saturday to just get away and did some dove hunting. It was good to get away a couple of days but it was a long drawn out affair trying to get back. The ferry service from Stumpy Point to Rodanthe is running as hard as they can go but it is still only open to residents. We are all hoping for the road to open soon but I am hearing it will be around October 1st. I am moving my boat to Pirates Cove tomorrow and run a few charters out of there. The white marlin fishing has been world class up there the last few days. I do have this Saturday and Sunday open and the weather looks beautiful if anyone is interested. You can call or email to let me know. A good website for info is www.islandfreepress.com. Be glad when things are back to normal and keep all the not so fortunate storm victims in your prayers. Good fishing.

Another Spectacular Day!
categories Fishing Report
Yesterday, the guys released nine White Marlin for another great day aboard the Pelican. Today is this groups third and final day fishing and already we have released 25 White Marlin. With Katia off shore, we were lucky to get out of the inlet this morning and they will be dealing with the hurricane swell off shore, but with perseverance they should see some action.

Thursdays' Fishing Report
Hope everyone is getting better all the time! A fisherman came in today, said that WHEN you able to get to the Point, they were catching good eating-size Blue fish and some Puppy Drum. There was a big swell on the beach from Katia but should be falling anytime now.
First day of Kindergarden went very well, Bobby said,"I can't believe that they will have me back!"
Thought I was going to loose it!!!
Thank You to all that have worked so hard to help in so many ways! Thanks to all for volunteering and may God Bless you all!
