The past week started off with a bang and kind of finished with a whimper. The schools of Spanish Mackeral that were just several miles off the beach kind of dried up over a couple of days, and the King Mackeral that were chasing the Spanish during the past week or so have pretty much left the area for the time being. We caught countless numbers of fish(Spanish) as well as a couple of dozen Kings. The Kings were not "smokers"(30lbs or better) but there were certainly a lot of them. While that bite faded, the Shark bite intensified with many 40lbers or better being caught along the inshore sandbars and beaches. The ultra-lite game fish such as Blues,Spanish,Ladyfish, and others have not materialized in the inshore waters just yet, but hopefully over the next week of so, we wont have to travel more than a few hundred yards off the beach in order to catch them. Still waiting on the Tarpon. Anyway, next report will be midweek and hopefully I will have some more good news to share.
