May 28 a day of firsts!
Took my son and a friend out of Oregon Inlet on Saturday in search of Cobia. My son Jake has a list of fish he wanted to catch this year. Well he got his first Cobia which was 17 pounds but might as well been 80 because he was excited as a kid on Christmas morning. Then he was trolling two Bluefish live rigs and all of a sudden one of the TLD's was screaming and just like that he had caught his first King Mackeral which weighed in at 29.3 pounds. It goes without saying he will remember that trip the rest of his life!

Yep, your gonna need stitches
Nice job getting the boy on the fish. Wish I lived as close to OI as you.

I can see it's dangerous for you, but if the government trusts me, maybe you could.
Congrat's to both the young angler and the proud dad!!

Proud Dad
Yes I am proud of him. He is a very dedicated and educated little fisherman. He made a list of goals for catching this season and he has scratched off Bluefin Tuna, Mako Shark, Cobia, and King Mackeral. He only has Wahoo, Sailfish and a Blue Marlin left as his goals for the year. With his luck I'm sure someone will want him on their boat fishing a tournament this year so we will see how the goals go for the rest of the year.
