Bottomfishing for sea mullet, croaker and spot has been great on Hatteras Island. Those throwing close have also caught good numbers of pompano.
Blues and Spanish mackerel are to be had for those that cast out further. Cape Point has been a good spot and we're glad it's open for all access.
Nearshore boaters have also hit the blues and Spanish.
In the sounds, gray and speckled trout have been caught, along with some keeper flounder and bluefish.
A good mixed bag has been reported by anglers fishing around the Bonner Bridge. Catches have included plenty of bluefish, a few black drum, sea mullet and flounder. There have also been some sea mullet landed.
Offshore boaters are catching limits of dolphin on a regular basis and billfish flags are flying. Sailfish have made up the majority of releases and white marlin have also been landed. A few blue marlin have been caught, too.
Wahoo have been brought in and blackfin tuna are still being landed in the early morning.

a predicted east, then southeast, then south wind should be good for fishing this weekend. at least it will cool things off.
flounder fishing might heat up around the bonner bridge. a few have been caught, along with some bluefish, schoolie stripers, black drum and scattered sheepshead.
trout fishing behind rodanthe is still good, but I recomend a sea anchor or a five-gallon bucket to slow the bow line drift.
bottomfishing is still a good bet for surf anglers. the current wasn't so bad on northern hatteras beaches and sea mullet, spot and croaker were caught.on south beaches you needed plenty of weight but those that got out caught puppy drum, pompano, spot, sea mullet and croaker.
offshore boaters stayed in today. when they can get out, plenty of dolphin and some nice wahoo have been landed, along with blackfin tuna.
sailfish have been a great catch and white marlin have been scattered. blue marlin have been tough to find around hatteras. the oregon inlet fleet had some earlier this week.
