Hatteras Jack fishing report Rodanthe 8-24
The sound has been producing nice sized speckled trout. Many keepers!!! That's a relief to see since those fish kills this past winter. There have been nice sized flounder caught on the sound side around the Oregon Inlet Bridge too.
The surf in the Tri-village area, we've been seeing some blues, spot , a couple pompano, and sea mullet. Further south has been reporting much of the same except with a few flounder and spanish mackerel in the mix. You just have to pick and choose your days. the wind has been a bit odd for us, making it good at times and slow at others!
The inshore fleet at Oregon Inlet have been getting into croakers, speckled trout, and bluefish. One boat brought in a 50lb cobia...Woo Hoo! The nearshore boats are reporting were reporting blues and spanish. The offshore fellas have been getting into yellow fin and black fin tuna, wahoo, dolphin, white marlin, and a few sailfish.
Inshore boats out of Hatteras Inlet are getting into gray trout, blues, and spanish. The offshore boys have been reporting catches of wahoo, dolphin, sailfish, big eye and black fin tuna.
