G'day folks.

Apparently, I inadvertently created some confusion for some forum readers by simply bumping the January Bluefin Tuna post with an update advising that we're doing another series of trips in February.

So, to clarify I created a new thread to clarify the update.

The weather looks like it is going to hold and I have enough crew booked for the period to warrant a trip south. I'm leaving this Friday, 2/11 with the idea of fishing as many days as possible starting on Saturday, 2/12.

I received a report earlier today that the boats fishing out of Hatteras Harbor which are at seas as I type are picking up some yellowfin while searching for the bluefin. In addition, a couple of days ago, a friend of mine ran his center console out of Hatteras to the 200 line, worked up to the 260 line and loaded the boat with blackfin. Also, he spotted a couple of schools of bluefin on the surface, but was unable to keep the Fat Alberts off his baits long enough to get them to bite. FWIW, he tried jigging/popping and chunking for a bit while in the vicinity of the bluefin, but to no avail.

Bottom line, if you want a decent shot at a big bluefin, if at all possible, give me a shout. We've still got plenty of days and individual spots available between 2/12 and 2/21.
