Gut Wrench finally gets a big dolphin
Out of Charleston 6-21-08,had to stay inshore of the ledge(150-200ft) due to the rough weather, found a weedline and pulled this one 45lbs off of it..
ended the day with 7 dolphin total,2 in the 30lb range and the big guy at 45lbs on the scale at the dock...

its been SLOW this year, the days of getting 20 plus dolphin have not happened, even for some of the better know charter boats...but on the flip side the sailfish bite is going off!!

Great looking big dolphin Gut Wrench. Surprised to see slammers still around. Good gaffer fishing was earlier than usual for us in NC this year. It was hot in April a full month ahead of schedule!

In april we had the wind blowing out of the NE and nobody got out for like 21 days in a row,so there is alot of discussion if we missed our really good bite?also they have let 3(i think)long liners out at the charleston bump, there is alot of talk that they are slaying the dolphin,i am too new at this to judge but i doubt that is a good thing..
