We got lucky enought to fish both Saturday and Sunday this past weekend and the fishin was good.
The Bluefins that have been around seemed to have made an up the beach juant to up above the point.
They were thick and the fishin was good, maybe they will be back, who knows.
the yellowins have made there usual April apearance and I for one am glad to see them.
Saturday, it was kind of random, you might get lucky enough to hit em and you might not, we were some where in between caught a few, had some late day Jiggin action on the donkeys.
The Boats out Saturday caught between 1 and a limit, pretty random.
Sunday we got an early start and were greated by ideal conditions, no current and pretty blended water over the right bottom, I had a feeling it would be better for us. It was pretty weather and there were alot of boats out, good to see both things!
Anyway, we found them over one of my favorite bumps and they bit a little for us. We got alot of bites, lost some but came back with a nice catch of yellowfins and big blackfins.
I should have stayed all day in that one spot but I started to wonder around, we went back later and got whacked again.
Boy I tellya there aint nothin like Yellerfins blowin up on your flat lines.
I hope this is a sign to come for us, a good yellowfin showin this spring would certainly be a welcome thing.
Anyway if anyone is interested, we do have open days throughout the spring, several days in April and May, my opinion some of the best fishin in Hatteras, May is good for everything!
