8-6-11 Fishing Report
The weather was decent today, even though we did experience a few showers. The temperatures were in the mid 80's for the most part of the day, with a wind blowing 5-10 mph out of the east.
Beach Fishing was decent today as reports of sea mullet, pompano, and flounder came from the south beach. A few spanish mackerel and bluefish were caught from the point as well.
Inshore Charter guides reported good catches of speckled trout, and a few bluefish and flounder mixed in.
Offshore charters had a decent day today. They reported good catches of dolphin, reaching citation size, and a few amberjacks and wahoos. Also was a report of scattered king mackerel. There were two sailfish caught today. One from Godspeed, and one from Native Son.
The weather is expected to be nasty tomorrow with winds blowing 15-20 mph out of the southwest. There is a 40% chance of rain along with scattered thunderstorms. Temperatures are expected to reach the low 90's.
8-7-11 Fishing Report
The weather was nice today. Temperatures were in the upper 80's and lower 90's. The winds blew about 15-20 mph out of the southwest.
Beach Fishing was relatively slow today as we only had a few fisherman report in. Sea mullet, pompano and flounder were caught off the south beach. While spanish mackerel and bluefish are still biting at the point.
Inshore charters reported limits of nice sized speckled trout.
No offshore charters left the dock today.
Tomorrow the weather is suppose to be similar to today. Winds at 10-20 mph out of the southwest and temperatures in the low 90's. There is only a 10% chance of rain as well.
8-8-11 Outer Banks Fishing Report
It was such a nice and sunny day. Light west south-west winds 10 mph and the temperatures were in the high 80′ to low 90′s . Around the Buxton beach there were a few flounder. Up around cape point scattered catches of sea mullet, spot, croakers and pompano. On the point itself a good spanish mackerel and blue fish bite on lures, early morning and late afternoon. The Frisco beach had some real good puppy drum fishing throughout the day. A few scattered blues also caught. The Hatteras beaches were slow most of the day, but the spanish mackerel and blue fish were biting really good on lures at the Hatteras Inlet just before dark.
Offshore boats had another good day. Good catches of dolphin, a few wahoo and blackfin tuna mixed in. Bite Me released a Blue Marlin and Tuna Duck released a Sailfish
Inshore boats out fishing in the sound today had a little bit of everything: Speckled and gray trout and bluefish
