Outer Banks Fishing Report 10-2
Posted on October 2, 2011
Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:
It was mostly sunny and a lot cooler today. The winds were from the west at 10-15 mph and the temperatures were around 70 F. Today the swell from tropical storm Ophelia came ashore, so it was a little rough. We had scattered bluefish at Cape Point and the Frisco beach. We also had a customer catch a 40″ red drum on the Frisco beach using a flounder rig. No boats fished today either. Although the fishing inshore has been excellent. Lots of speckled trout and puppy drum. Offshore the wahoo fishing has been excellent and the yellowfin tuna fishing should really start picking up with the cooler weather.

Today was a lot cooler and a bit windy. The winds were from the north-west at 15-20 mph and temperatures were in the low 70′s. Cape Point had reports of three nice big red drum and a few puppy drum and some bluefish. Down on the Frisco beach there were a few sea mullet and some bluefish. No boats fished inshore or offshore today.
