Had a make-up charter Saturday with Vinnie (NCW-Sandman), his wife Debra, son Greg and good friend Mitch. Left dock at 5:30 headed south of the Rock. What a beautiful day! It was dead slick calm on the way out and was calm all day. Started fishing and started picking up dolphin. Grass was everywhere, some scattered and some lined up. We found a big line and stopped and bailed some smaller dolphin on light tackle. Now that is fun! Did that until everyone was tired and moved on north past the Rock. Ended up the day with 42 dolphin, 16 were gaffers and a couple were really nice, and the rest bailers. We finally caught 2 wahoo to round out the box. Started cleaning fish at 5pm and did not finish until 7pm. Vinnie has enough dolphin to get him through the winter. For Debra, Greg and Mitch it was their first time offshore and needless to say they were amazed at the water and the offshore fishing experience. I told them not to expect that kind of day everytime but for sure we all enjoyed this one.
