Ocean Isle Fishing Center Fishing Report 8-01-10

    "Drum Roll!!!" | OIFC 1- 36' | 07/31/10

Captain Jeff Williamson of the OIFC/Get Busy got on a roll with the red drum yesterday at some near artifical shore reefs. Jeff took Andrew Salmaso and Randy Dobel, of Canada for little in shore/near shore action and they definitely found it. These well thought out picture angles tell you about as much as I know about the location. Maybe we can tellmre by the angle of the sun, because Jeff sure ain't coming of anymore information.

The guys from north of the border did a great job eh?

    Pointrunner Charters Fishing Report 8-01-10

    Pointrunner Charter

7-31-10 blue marlin, gaffers and a tuna
We enjoyed the company of Lou Jennings and friends, Dennis, Art, Bryon, and Tom all from Northern VA. Our day was spent around the Point where bites were few and far between but we did have moments of excitement. A 300 pound blue marlin came to a teaser and we got 'em hooked for a release citation for Art. A couple of big gaffers and a tuna came later giving the guys plenty of meat for the table. Boats fishing well north of us caught some whites and a few tuna and mahi. Thanks for checking in.

Frisco Rod and Gun Fishing Report 8-01-10

    Fishing Report 7/31
The beach fishing was not quite as good today although the ocean was calm and the water looked like the tropics. There were small pompano and sea mullet on the south beach and Hatteras beaches. Some blues and spanish were at the inlet and around the point.
The inshore boats caught the heck out of spanish mackerel but offshore was only fair with some dolphin, wahoo, and blackfin tuna.

Red Drum Tackle Shop Fishing Report 8-01-10

    Saturday Fishing Report
A few Spanish at the Point early this morning but no Bluefish - they showed up a little later. Puppy Drum at the point and behind the Motels. Good catches of Sea Mullet continue around Ramp 49 - River has been putting 2 pounders on the beach but I refuse to give away his location (Ramp 49). Spot, and Croakers on Shrimp and Bloodworms in the holes. The Spanish fleet is presently at the Point and lead is flying in all directions and there'll be some Spanish and Blues caught this evening. Wishing everyone a good weekend - Grumpy.
