Ocean Isle Fishing Center Fishing Report 7-31-10
"Garrett's 1st Sail" | OIFC 1- 36' | 07/30/10
Another sailfish to report just in time for the Cape Fear Sailfish Classic!
Garrett Williams and his dad Keith were joined by friends Brent Elliott and his son Matt aboard Keith's beautiful 31 ft. Cape Horn the O-Sea-D on what Keith described as a beautiful day at the 90's. He said the bait was so thick you could walk on it.
The result was a couple of kings and Garrett's 1st sailfish! They reported they had a couple more sails crash on their baits. It is obvious by the picture what the sail hit. Also in on the action was some sharks taking advantage of the bait pods. All of this is within sight of Myrtle Beach! Congratulations Garrett..and at some point you must take a swim to commemorate you 1st sail!
The OIFC is gearing up for the Classic...the trophy is on it's way to OIB from the custom builders. I hope to have a picture of the finished product this weekend.

"Sailfish Release" | OIFC 1- 36' | 07/30/10

Off the Hook Charters Fishing Report 7-31-10
Hilton Head Island Fishing Off The Hook Charters
7/29 Pic Of The Day!

What a hot afternoon! Heat index well over 100 degrees! I spent most of my time keeping the
boat moving looking for jacks but unfortunately could not find a school to cast to. We finished
off the trip with the Bentz family hooking into a nice batch of big redfsh at a brand new spot.
In just a matter of minutes we had close to 10 fish like these pictured above all 7-10 pounds!

7/28 Pic Of The Day!

A great day for scanning the surface for schooling jacks. My client Gary Kandel had a great
fight from this fish pictured that weighed a little over 20 pounds. Some of the other fish we
sawin the schools had to be well over 30 pounds and I guarantee there is a new state record
out there ! I hope to get em' one day!

Friday Fishing Report
A pretty dabgone good day of fishing here today. Wheat nails two Pups and a Yearling at the Point with a few more caught off 43 and behind the Motels.
Lots of nice Sea Mullet and Spot in front of 49. Bluefish and Spanish at the Inlet and "Hang On" said the Sound was full of Spanish. Pompano on South Beach and off Ramp 43. I haven't see or heard from the Flounder chasers so that means they're behind the Inlet catching keepers - Grumpy.

Salvo Beach Fishing Report, NC, 7-31-10
Friday, July 30, 2010. The wind finally laid this week and the fishing began to improve. In the Salvo, Waves, Rodanthe area anglers were catching Spot, flounder, sea mullet, and blues. The catch was pretty much the same from Salvo to Avon and on the Rodanthe and Avon Piers. Some croaker, of course, was in the mix. Now that the Point is open fishermen can get there to fish and they did. There were a good number of blues and spanish caught. Sea mullet and croaker were caught when fishing on the bottom. A good number of pompano were caught along Frisco beach. They should move back to the Salvo area now that the water is warming back up. Offshore anglers are catching limits of Dolphin along with some yellowfin tuna and wahoo. A 248 pound bigeye tuna was weighed in at the Oregon Inlet Fishing Center.
