Offshore: Bumpy in the AM nice in the PM. Boats came back with good catches of blackfin tuna and few dolphin and wahoo. One blue marlin was released.
Near Shore: Boats had good catches of trigger fish.
Inshore: Boats fishing inshore had good catches of bluefish and few gray and speckled trout as well as red drum.

Fishing Report 7/22
There were lots of blues and spanish at the inlet last night and again this morning. Lots of sea mullet were caught on the Frisco beach and spanish, blues, and croaker were around the point.
The inshore boats had good catches of bluefish along with a few specks and gray trout.
Offshore there were good catches of blackfin tuna along with a few dolphin and wahoo.

7-23-10 ...... FRIDAY ...... HOT & WINDY with TARPON STRIKES! ......

There sure is a lot of fishermen scratching their heads because of the lapse in reports, but if you have been reading this page for a while, you would know that when it's SLOW, it's SLOW! ............ there has been some activity on the end of the pier yesterday; it seems that there have been not only ONE, but THREE TARPON strikes in one day! ........... We heard that one was a C&R at 60 lbs, but didn't receive any information on it ........ We'll let you know if we find out! ...........Congratulations to SHEPHANIE NGUYEN (Raleigh, NC)--3 lb. 2 oz. SPANISH MACKEREL caught early week ............. Also, we are starting to see more SEA MULLET, SPOTS, and BLUEFISH being landed, so it's definitely getting better (although HOTTER!) .............. There is a great crowd of folks coming out at night; fishing is so much cooler in the evenings, and with an 81* water temperature, it's still the COOLEST place around! ............. For the record, Gail, our BEACHFRONT RV PARK Manager, told me last night that there is only one space left in the EAST park, so if you are looking, now is the time! ........... Thursday Fishing Report
Waiting for a report on the evening bite - lots of big Rays at the Point but in between those big "fun to catch Bats" there were a few Puppy Drum. Susan OBX put a 28 incher back in the water and managed to talk some Dude out of his 23 inch Pup - played the "I ain't had fish to eat in a year" song. Lots of Croakers on all beaches along with Sea Mullet and Spot. It's gonna be hot so why not come to the beach - Grumpy.
