Mrs. Amber Simmons reports the grouper bite was hot off of OIB over the 4th week. Fishing buddies, Kennon Hill, Dr. Bryan Freeman, Brian Robbins, Daniel Simmons (OIB Concrete) limited out on groupers during 2 fishing trips. They were using live bait in about 180 ft of water. Family and friends have enjoyed the catch, grilled grouper, grouper bites, grouper salad and grouper formage.
Thanks to Mrs. Amber, she contributes regularly to the fishing reports and helps us all keep up to date on the current fishing happenings.

Hilton Head Island Fishing Off The Hook Charters
7/10 World Record Trippletail!

What a incredible day!
On the way back in from fishing a few miles off of Hilton Head I spotted this huge trippletail swimming
underneath a dead horse shoe crab and pulled out my fly rod that was rigged with 20 pound class
tippet and casted a red & white lefty's deceiver to what I knew could possibly be a world record fish.
The fish took the fly and the fight was on for a awesome 10 minute battle! After netting the fish it
weighed in right at 17 pounds which beat the current world record by 6 ounces that was caught in
1995 in Costa Rica. One of my greatest catches of all time!

Most of us struggled to make a catch today. High boat had 4 tuna and a couple of wahoo. We had 7 strong bites but landed only two yellowfin. Both were in the 50 pound class. Thanks to Scott and friends for fishing with us again today.

JULY 10 A.M. TRIGGERFISH, SPANISH & BLUES / Posted by: Bobby Smith / 07/10/10
Great fishing this morning for the Reluzco crew. We started out at one of my favorite bottom spots, banging out a few triggers.
After we got what we needed there we set out the trolling gear and had excellent action the rest of the morning on the blues & spanish mackerel, boxing enough for dinner while releasing a pile more. Thanks again fellas,we enjoyed it. Bobby

JULY 10 P.M. REPORT / Posted by: Bobby Smith / 07/10/10
This afternoon we headed out with Ronnie,Andrea,& Bella The Dog,for some halfday action.Things were actually alot slower than our morning trip, though if you wanted too,you could have done some rolling around close to the beach & picked out a catch of blues. We stayed outside of the swell & concentrated on the spanish mackerel. Just a few bites on the spanish but we did land a bonus sea mullet on a clark spoon.I think that was a first for me.
Thanks again folks, glad to have you & your girl with us.Bobby

Saturday Fishing Report
Goes to prove you just can't always listen to the weather people - gotta remember they predict - not guarantee. Turned out to be a good day after all and the Bluefish cooperated just about everywhere being caught on both metal and cut bait. Puppy Drum at the Point this morning. Sea Mullet, Spot, and Croaker behind the Motels, the Jetty area, and in local secret honey holes. No report on Spanish this evening due to a pretty good evening storm. Hope everyone has a super weekend - Grumpy.
