Fishing Report
by Capt. Joe Shute

07-29-2011: Capt. Joe's now has a new page on the web-site. "Capt's comments and Events". .Check out the Capt's Comments and Events about the proposed sulfer plant that is headed for the port . The smelting plant has been stopped, but there could be a very large storage fascility coming for the dy pettetized sulfur which is highly flamable and will still have that terrible smell. The winds look like they are going to cooperate for the offshore fishing this weekend. the winds are supposed to be 5-10 and the seas around 2-3 ft. The white marlin and sailfishing fishing has been pretty good. The white marlin bite has been north of theBig Rock and the sailfish bite has been anywhere fro the Sea Bouy to the Big Rock. There has also been fair good dolphin fishing and a scattered number of wahoo. The Spanish mackerel fishing has slowed down some since last weekend, but the winds have been pretty bad this week, so hopefully the Spanish fishing will pick up during this upcoming pretty weekend. The red drum fishing has slowed up a good bit back in the marsh. Could be due to extremely hot water and high winds.
