11-05-2011: Capt. Joe's now has a new page on the web-site. "Capt's comments and Events". . Wind is the big problem right now. Today the winds are blowing 25-35 gusting to 45. For those of you that enjoy fishing for speckled trout, they are now here is very good numbers. The speckled trout seem to be pretty much everywhere right now. WE are having good catches of 1 1/2 to 3 lb specs on the beaches, the rock jettys and some smaller specs back in the marsh area. MirrOlures, and soft plastics are working very good around the stop nets, the surf and the Cape rock jetty. There have been very good numbers of red drum along the beach and all the same locations as the speckled trout. There have been good numbers of false albacore along the beaches and up at the Cape, but they have been pretty picky. Hopefully the bait will ball up and they wil start cooperating a little bit better. Bottom fishing inside for hogfish and gray trout is still doing well. There are some sea mullet showing up in the shipping channel and along the Dead TRee Hole area. King mackerel fishing seems to be the best on the eastside of the Cape Lookout shoals around places like the Atlas Tanker and the 1700 Rock. Wahoo fishing is still very good when the winds will let you go offshroe to the Big Rock and Swansboro Hle area.
