Capt Joe Shutes Bait and Tackle, Atlantic Beach 11-20
11/19/10: This week offshore fishing picked up. The local offshore charter boats had nice catches of wahoo, some yellowfin and black fin tuna, along with some king mackerel and even a few dolphins.
11/13/10: I have not had any good reports form offshore due to the hig saeas and swells we have been having this past week. The inshore fishing is doing pretty good. The speckled trout and red drum fishing along the beaches and rock jetties has been very good. Many of these trout and drum are undersized, but that means there should be a good number of larger trout next year. There are enough large trout still being caught though. Plenty of red drum are still back in the marshes and long Shackleford Banks. There are sea mullet and gray trout in the shipping channel and long Shackleford Banks around the Dead Tree Hole. The false albacore bite this week has been very good this week, but today they were very hard to find. Hopefully the albacore will show back up tomorrow.
