Went down with my wife and little girl. I had intentions of a group of guys fishing a buddies boat, but due to some issues only 2 of us wanted to go come "go-time". I'd promised a lot of people fish, so we decided a headboat would be a better option at that point. Called and reserved a couple spots on Capt Dicks for an all day trip. Surprised to see the price was still the same as the last time we went out (2-3 years ago) even with the way fuel is. We had a pretty small group, think 33 people on the boat. Water had a bit of a chop on the way out, laid down pretty flat by 10am or so.

Myself and my buddy were the only drift fishermen on the boat so we had plenty of room for that. We fished dead cigar minnows one 75'-100' the other a little further back. Managed to limit out on kings. Had a double hookup once, landed both fish. Caught the last 4 fish within 10 minutes. All pretty good sized, smallest was 13#. They ran 13#, 16#, 17#, 17#, 24# and 29#. Even managed to hook another at 21# and passed the rod to someone else so they could enjoy the fight and fish. Only missed a single run all day, of course it seemed to be the biggest fish, burned an easy 200yards of line, applied a little drag and pulled loose. Didn't miss a single fish at the boat, mates did a great job. I think the Captain gaffed all of our fish, every gaff was textbook. Impressed to say the least.

Bottom fishing seemed to be outstanding and some of the best I've seen in quite some time. Limited out on just about everything, 2 grouper in the bag, both pretty good size. Saw some much larger grouper come over the rail, think the biggest was 17#. Saw some of the biggest BSB Ive ever seen in my life come over one way, then right back into the water.

I apologize about the lack of pictures (unless you guys wanna see the steaks and fillets), by the time we got in, I was done, cooked, someone forgot sunscreen. Went to GCP to clean and weigh the fish. That was a whooooole other story. The hook for their scale only had 24" or so of room before the fish on the scale's tail was laying in a flowerbed. That whole ordeal cost us 2 hours.
