It's official!! The Atlantic Bonito have finally shown up. Ran out to AR370 "Liberty Ship" this morning with Randy aboard hoping to get into a little rod bending action. Water temps were 62 degrees, up two degrees from last weekend. Bluefish were still the dominant species of the day, though they were not as big as the ones caught last weekend.
Then I saw them, Bonito, busting bait on the surface. What a welcome site. They didn't stay up long, but Randy managed to get hooked up. This was Randy's first Atlantic Bonito.
Though the water is still a little cold for this time of year, the fish seem to know that it is time for
their arrival. With the water continuing to warm, fishing should really take off this week. I talked with another captain yesterday and he said that he managed to catch a couple of Spanish Mackerel as well as Bluefish.
I still have plenty of good dates available, so give me a call and lets go catch some fish!!
Good catch..thanks....how in the heck do you post pictures. I have tried a bunch and everytime it says my picture is too big or it comes up three times the size of the screen? Thanks for any help......forget it...figured it out
