9-3-11 ...... SATURDAY ...... LABOR DAY WEEKEND & WE'RE CATCHING FISH!

This past week has been quite eventful, but nothing is as eventful as EARLY FALL FISHING! .......... PUPPY DRUM, BLACK DRUM, SEA MULLET, POMPANO, SPOTS, SHEEPSHEAD, and SPANISH MACKEREL have all been landed! ......... The WATER TEMPERATURE dropped to 78* (thanks Dr. Bogus) and with the NE winds for the past four days, BAIT FISH are EVERYWHERE! .............. Congratulations to JIMMY BRADLEY (Rutherfordton, NC)--3 lb. 4 oz. PUPPY DRUM .............. NUI VINSON (Jacksonville, NC)--1 lb. 11 oz. POMPANO ............. SHEILA BRADLEY (Rutherfordton, NC)--1 lb. 4 oz. SPECKLED TROUT ............... JAMES GIBBS (Newport News, VA)--1 lb. 2 oz. SPECKLED TROUT & 11 oz. & 9 oz. POMPANO............ DUSTAN McCURRY (Rutherfordton, NC)--3 lb & 2 lb. 13 oz. SHEEPSHEAD ............... and DUSTAN McCURRY, BOO BOO, JW, & JIMMY BRADLEY (Rutherfordton, NC)--DRUM, BLUES & POMPANO .............We have opened the pier as far as we can go for the weekend, and we are sitting right at 700' ! ............... We are even in range for SPANISH MACKEREL fishing! ............. This weekend is the "CHILL" weekend for many visitors; school is almost full tilt, and just hanging around enjoying the beautiful weather for one more time is the only thing on most minds! ........... The ironic thing is that the FALL is usually WAY better in terms of weather than we are right now! ............ Any way you like it .......... Come on down and CHILL with the best of them! ........... We will begin working on the end of the pier this coming week; there is some rain predicted mid-week, and we still aren't sure what that pesky storm offshore will do to next weekend! ........... Don't forget to keep an eye on our site and the weather; the 2011 EMERALD ISLE BEACH BIKE WEEKEND is also next week! ............. We'll keep you posted! .............. SEE YOU SOON! ..............
