9-29-11 ...... THURSDAY ...... COOLER DAYS AHEAD! ......

It's looking more like FALL FISHING! ............ As we dip into the upper 60's and low 70's we should see fishing on the increase! .......... SEA MULLET, SPOTS, SPANISH MACKEREL, SPECKLED TROUT, and an occasional POMPANO and BLACK DRUM have all been landed this week, although not in the numbers that we like to see! ........... Congratulations to JIM GREGORY (Cedar Point, NC)--1 lb. 14 oz. SEA MULLET ............. NUI VINSON (Jacksonville, NC)--1 lb. 9 oz. SPECKLED TROUT ......... and CHARLOTTE BECK (Rolesville, NC)--COOLER of SPOTS .............. A big wind shift is in store for us starting tomorrow; we will see SSW winds changing to NNW- NNE by early weekend. ............. The water temperature is up to 78* right now, but should begin to drop soon! ........... The 2011 NC SEAFOOD FESITVAL is this coming weekend; there are lots of festivities planned and BIP is having a FAMILY FISHING TOURNAMENT in conjunction with the FESTIVAL! ............. The entry fee is $ 5.00 for the SATURDAY & SUNDAY BOTTOM FISHING Tourney, and there are six categories of fish that are eligible! ........... TOP PRIZE for the largest eligible fish is a 2012 BIP SEASON PASS! .......... So come on down and enjoy the pier .......... WE ARE OPEN 24 HOURS! ............ MIKE STANLEY
