The SPOTS might not be co-operating too much on the beach, but it's perfect conditions for other species! ............ POMPANO, FLOUNDER, BLUEFISH, BLACK DRUM, SPECKLED TROUT, and SPANISH MACKEREL are all being landed during the day ............... Night fishing has improved a bit with SEA MULLET and SPECKLED TROUT! ............ Congratulations to BOBBY TYNDALL (Kinston, NC)--2 lb. 9 oz. SPANISH MACKEREL ........... ANDY PARK (Jacksonville, NC)--2 lb. 4 oz. SPECKLED TROUT ............... JAMES STOKES (Greenville, NC)--2 lb. 2 oz. SPANISH MACKEREL .............. S.W. WILLIFORD (Hickory, NC)--2 lb. The WATER TEMPERATURE has dropped to 72* (thanks Dr. BOGUS [ ncoif.com ]) and just perfect water for SPANISH and BLUEFISH jigging (it's a shame that there isn't more pier right now!) ............. Speaking about MORE PIER, our materials are ordered and we are in the process of preparing the necessary equipment to get BIP back (in it's entirety) by SPRING! ............. The WEEKEND ahead looks awesome, warm weather a brisk NE wind on SATURDAY will hopefully start the SPOTS coming out of the SOUNDS and RIVERS and headed our way! ............ It was reported to me that NUI VINSON (Jacksonville, NC) predicted yesterday that this will be the SPOT BLOW! ........... Let's hope she's right! .............. Come on DOWN! ...........
