    Bluefish and Spanish Blitz

If fishing gets any better, well, it's going to be one heck of a summer. Fished with Randy and Boyd on board today and the action was pretty much none stop. Started out trolling for Spanish right off the beach and quickly found the fish.

After catching several Spanish Mackerel, we found one of the largest schools of Bluefish that I have ever seen. There must have been thousands of bluefish feeding on glass minnows right off the breakers. Fish were breaking water every where you looked, so I decided to pull in the trolling gear and break out the light tackle. Boyd broke out his fly rod, I grabbed a top water plug and Randy started throwing a silver jig. Everyone was catching fish.

Randy got the catch of the week when he hooked up with this very nice Spanish. Boyd was having the time of his life catching bluefish on the fly rod and I was catching them two at a time with a top water skitter walk. We caught fish all day long.

Monday, I was invited to the gulf stream and we managed to catch one wahoo and a nice Mahi before the weather went south and we had to head in early. Had several short strikes that we didn't hook or had hooks pull.

Synopsis: All the Blues and Spanish you want inshore. Kings are getting plentiful as well. Mahi and Wahoo in the gulf stream.
