Went out with John M. aboard this morning looking for some Spanish, Kings and Bluefish and it didn't take long to score. Eased out to the Liberty Ship out of Masonboro Inlet and quickly got into the fish. Started out with a couple of nice Spanish Mackerel and a few small King Mackerel. The Kings were right on the 24-inch mark, so we decided to throw them back to grow up.
The wind decided to pick up and it started getting a little sloppy, so we eased back in close to the beach looking for some fish where it was a little more calm. There were lots of boats catching blues right at the inlet, but I decided to get away from the crowd and try to find some more Spanish. It didn't take long and we commenced to catching more fish. At times, we had fish on every line we had in the water, that's right, four on at a time. Not sure how many fish we ended up catching, but we brought about 10 Spanish and 11 blues to the dock (not all are pictured ), the rest we released to grow up a little. I would guess that in all we had about 40 fish total for a half day. Majority of the fish were caught in about 30 feet of water on Clark spoons, yozuri plugs and a secret weapon.
I have some openings for the upcoming Memorial Weekend, so give me a call and let's go catch some fish.
