Got to my mark South of the Same Ol around 0830, 70/76 degree break in 200 yrds, saw birds and tuna-looking fish jumping, dumped gear, 3 lines in and the WWB starts dumping and stops. Nothing more for several hours. Head up to the SO, talk to Midnight and others, not doing anything. Head north, about 3 miles NE of the Same Ol, lots of flyers, two guys on board see a blue marlin greyhounding about 50-75yds off the bow after bait, does not come into our spread, somebody released one later. Keep heading north, hook up, runs, stops, acts like a blackfin, turns out to be a nice 30lb ish wahoo, gets within range of a 8' gaff but I had a 4ft in my hand. I watch it open its mouth and the hook falls out, it calmly swims away. The skunk is still on the boat. Cruise the same area, know there is at least one marlin and one wahoo there, hook a triple of mahi, get them all in the box, 8-15lbs, pick one more up 30 minutes later. Ran in amidst sea turtles and molas at a very comfortable 36mph cruise. 35 miles out we almost run over a basking sailfish, turn around, dump the dredge and baits, nada, leave after 10 minutes, 74.5 degrees. Saw a flying fish at 12 miles/71 degrees, maybe everybody ran over the bite? We could see the beach from 20 miles.
