12-11-10 Giant Bluefin Tuna

We have endured some tough breaks with weather over the last two weeks. Several trips had to be cancelled on rough days, and on a couple of pretty days we were not booked.

Saturday we had some old friends from the Northern Neck aboard for Barry's birthday fishing trip. We were surprised to find some giant bluefin tuna have arrived in our area. We hooked a pair of fish in the 200 pound class and fought them on 50-wides for almost two hours before bringing them boatside. We then deployed several 80-wides but the big fish had gone deep and the bite was over. We also caught a blackfin, and a couple of yellowfin tuna for the day.
