Hello, My Name is John Cawthern , and I am a Fishaholoic. I am 40 yrs young, in excellent physical condition, and I want to be put to work.
Here is the story. I live currently in the mountains of Central Pa. and I have spent all my life there with my wife of 21 years and have raised my 2 boys, built and run my own successful businesses here, and now it is time for a change. What can I do you ask ?? Well, I can do many things, but, if it doesn't involve fishing, I am not really interested. I cut my teeth fishing and guiding the freshwater streams and lakes throughout Central Pennsylvania, and eventually graduated to the madness which is saltwater fishing. I have plied the waters up and down the east coast for the last 20 years. I have run my own charter boat, and boats for others for everything from the lowly croaker, to the majestic GBFT. I am a skilled Captain that believes paying attention to details and patterns is what keeps me firmly in the 5% of fisherman that catch 90% of the fish.
Now, you are wondering what I am getting at. Well, it is simple. I have done everything I want to do where I am at now, and now, Look out Morehead City. Over the past couple of years I have fell in love with the area through fishing the waters off Cape Lookout, both during the summer, and the winter BBFT commercial season. My wife and I decided that we are moving within the next year and are in the process of finding our new house there. I live for the sea, and the blood in my veins flows with the ebb and flow of the tides.
Where does the "You tell me" part come in ? Well, we are committed to the change in our lives, and, are taking the necessary steps to complete the move. All the details are being addressed, pieces are falling into place except for where I am going to earn a paycheck. I don't care whether I am washing boats or running them, all I know is that I am happiest on the water. I am a motivated self starter and can work most guys half my age under the table. I really don't care if I am selling fishing rods, or rigging them with what it takes for someone else to get a taste of what has me firmly addicted. I am committed to making this work, and through my life of being self employed, I realize that hard work is what makes things happen.
Surely, Somebody down in the Beaufort/Morehead City area could use someone like me on their team. I am not just some dreamer who is wasting time fishing for opportunities, I am a no bullshit, ready to pull the trigger kind of guy who doesn't settle for close enough.
I am dead serious, have references available, and would love to talk to you. Thank You for you attention.
I know John and he is the real deal. If somebody is looking.... he is your man.
I wan't to head down that way at some point but there is no way my wife would be able to work in her field down there so it will have to wait a few years.
Thanks for the kind words Ted. I know times aren't the best in the fishing industry right now, but, I am throwing my hat in the ring. I am not sure anything will come of it, but, I am making the move and am determined to make it work. Sometimes you just have to jump in head first, before testing the waters.
Life is just like fishing. Sometimes you have to venture out, try something a bit different , if you don't want to end up with just another mediocre catch.
Well, I am closing on a house in Beaufort on July 17 th. Still looking for an shot. I assure you, I am not just another dreamer wasting your time. I will be successful down there, I guarantee it, and since a rising tide floats all ships......
