Cool Skipper wanted - Santaigo Cape Verde

Seriously.. I'm looking for an easy going, experienced and trusted or very ambitious and skilled young skipper, looking for a world class opportunity and a chance to fish some virgin waters for monster fish.

(I need commitment from early Nov 07 onwards), (Now changed to mid Jan 08)

and likely you will recruit your crew locally. You'll need to buy the boat (s) and all the gear (nothing out on CV) and ship them out to Canaries, where you'll run the boat(s) down to Cape Verde.

This really is one of those opportunities that doesn’t come around too often and I am going to want to see that your the right person to fit the bill (and catch them too).

If your interested, in the first instance, mail me a CV with your experience and a picture.

    Good hunting....

I am pretty much looking to travel as much as possible fishing and transporting boats. I can drive any boat you put me on and fix anything that breaks. I just recently retired from the Coast Guard after 7 years and looking to work out at sea or where ever i am needed. I run a charter buisness in Murrells Inlet South Carolina called Reel Endeavor Charter. I have a 31' fountain and a 22' Sea pro. hoping to end up somewhere in the Caribbean one day. Call me anytime 843-333-5336

If the person has to buy the boat and gear, ship them to the Canaries and then run the boat to Cape Verde what kind of oppurtunity would YOU be providing them? Sounds like they would be providing everything for themselves?

    hmmmm,

Guys, its a language thing. I'll translate. Skipper chooses, tests, organises surveys etc., Kits it out and makes sure she is loaded and shipped to Canaries. Meets the boat, checks her out and runs her down to CV where skipper will be responsible for running her... I think the bit you needed spelling out was its our boat and the lucky skipper gets to do this on our payroll.

check out our website www.sambaladevelopments.com and you will probably understand more.

I am certainly not inviting somone to come down and fish these immaculate waters if its not part of our operation. Not being greedy or anything, but we've already invested huge time (45 yrs+) and expense to make sure we have the perfect development and we areway ahead of the game already. We will do the investing in the kit, I just wanna find the right skipper, who wants the chance to purchase and run a boat or two down there for us.

the only other operation is on Sao Vincent 160 nmiles away. Check out www.capeverde-fishing.com/ to see what they are catching

Let me know if you still need further clarification.

Thanks for the clarification and good luck on your search. I hope I get a chance to fish the amazing fishery you have in Cape Verde one day.

Just a word of caution for everyone job searching. Some criminals are using job ads to get people's personal info to use for identity theft.

Not saying this post is by any means.

But with this one, I would want to confirm by phone that this person is at this resort or connected to it, before sending any personal info.

I guess it pays to be cynical.

Check out our web site as per previous posts

    http://www.sambaladevelopments.com/sambala_team.htm

    You'll find me there.

We are a very straight talking no bullshit operation and need someone to fit the team. This is a very important role for us and we hope it will be a long term relationship. I am not going to be making calls before I see CV's (Resume's) and photo's. By all means call our office and check us out.

If you intend to apply, I will of course do the same.

    Best regards

    Update

I have had some strong interest in the ad so thanks for those that have already sent details.

I will be looking to close out on this by end of the month and the chosen skipper will likely start work choosing the boats and gear from Jan. I've just come back from Cape Verde and things are looking pretty good over there with the development, so we are on track for a soft launch to the facilities at end of Jan and the fishing to start from Easter.

I have also found a local who wants to work as mate (20 years local experience on a boat that was lost on the rocks a few years back) so it should be plain sailing when you get down.

If you haven't already applied, give me a shout.. As mentioned you will have some tough competition, but if your not afraid of a challenge and confident about your abilities, whats to loose ;-)

    Best regards

    Justin
