Position title: Ph.D. or M.S. Assistantship related to conservation planning for fishes.

Responsibilities: Conduct research related to landscape-level factors influencing fish distributions in the Upper Colorado River basin. Specific research projects are flexible, but will use existing datasets of fish distributions and landscape-level habitat metrics in the basin to answer management-related questions. Potential projects may include determining how anthropogenic stressors and invasive species affect fish distributions in the Upper Colorado River basin. Opportunities exist to develop a research project comparing how fish respond to stressors in multiple basins (Colorado River, Missouri River).
Qualifications: MS or BS in fisheries, ecology, or related program, overall GPA of 3.0 and verbal and quantitative GRE scores >1,100 preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with GIS, landscape fish ecology interest, and demonstrated ability to present and publish research results. PhD applicants are strongly preferred but exceptional MS candidates will be considered.
Stipend: 16,000-18,000/year; includes tuition waiver.
