Olympic National Forest Fish Bio position in Forks.
Olympic National Forest Fish Bio position in Forks.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual who is interested in working on some of the best steelhead streams in the pacific northwest. We have a strong restoration program focused on correcting culvert fish passage barriers, road decommissioning and stabilization, and large wood placement. The Calawah River was recently designated as Focus Watershed and is a priority area for aquatic restoration on the Forest.
We are advertising the position both as a Merit Promotion opportunity for folks who are current permanent Federal employees and as a DEMO opportunity open to all other U.S. citizens. We are utilizing the "Open Continuous Roster" program. You will need to apply thru AVUE or USAJobs to either PERM-OCR-0482-911-FISHBIO-G or PERM-OCR-0482-911-FISHBIO-DP depending on whether you are currently a permanent Federal employee or not. You will need to specify Forks, Washington as a preferred location. The closing date for applications is January 15, 2011.
Over the past several weeks there have been some developments with the Career Intern Program that make it unlikely that we would be able to fill the position using that program. At this time we are no longer considering the Career Intern Program for this position.
