POSITION VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

WORKING TITLE: Natural Resources Specialist DIVISION: Fisheries Management

Administration

POSITION NO.: 00250 HIRING RANGE: $31,352 - $36,054

WORK DESCRIPTION: Provide support to the Deputy Chief and Chief of Fisheries

Management. Provide routine support for such duties as administering the various

transferability programs (e.g. commercial fisherman’s registration license transfers, crab

license transfers and request for crab license agents) and preparation of scientific

collection permits, as well as providing telephone support for the office and assistance to

walk in clientele; responsible for data entry of records from the oyster harvest and tax

reporting system. Incumbent will provide chief and deputy chief assistance with analysis

of data related fisheries issues.

DESIRED QUALIFICATION: Requires well-developed skills in speaking, writing and

multi-tasking; experience in use of personal computers using Microsoft Office programs,

and computer-based data management and statistical analyses. Must have high school

education or the equivalent with studies in Marine Science/Fisheries, and statistical

analysis, must have proven experience in analyzing data and information. Knowledge of

marine species, the fisheries that harvest those species is helpful. Bachelor’s Degree

preferred.
