Mate positions in Texas?

I am a 26-year old amateur mate (gaff, wiring, and rigging etc on friends and personal boats for the past 12 years) looking for a position on a boat out of Texas or traveling. I've done everything from bottom dropping, to deep dropping for tiles to tournament billfishing. I'm very detailed, hard working, quick learner, college educated with common sense thrown in to keep things level.

I'm looking to get out from behind the desk and follow my passion. Work to live instead of living to work. I'm not married, no kids, have a place in Corpus so I'm not looking to move just yet but am ready to travel.

I'm also working on getting my captain's license. I'm currently doing a review of days spent fishing to make sure I have enough to meet the requirements. Hopefully I'll have that under my belt as well in the next few months.

I appreciate any recommendations or suggestions.
