Experience
Hi Gerrad, sorry to hear your gid dit not work out man. Buddy you got the golden hand shake a couple of weeks back and you didn’t realize it. From what I have read over the passed couple of weeks it seems that you have the experience to work the deck and there is also not sort fall in your willingness. Which is great.
Experience comes with time and doing and bumping your head several times. Buddy you busted your own balls when you had the opportunity that many would kill for. Working as a youngster you should try and except that fact that the old hands on the deck or boat are gonna give you hell in every way they could, especially is you’re a treat to them. You should not except abuse, but you should work very hard on making your supposed enemy’s your closest friends. At the end of the day getting the job done to the best of your ability is the only way you would ever succeed regardless of how much crap you have to endure and especially if it is a possible gold pot. From what you have said, you did not get along with one of the other mates. This should have been very bad to give up a job like that. I will tell you this, take your self as a little Jack Russell Terrier fighting a bigger dog. Man they never give up and they sure have now fear in them bigger dogs, even at only half the size of there opponent they keep trying. Go and see Josh. Know this, it’s not gonna be an easy task to convince him. If your ever had a huge job and no solution then this is it man, but if Josh feels your worth it he would find a way. If I was in your shoes I would go down there, make it work, find a way its your ticket for life . |

Benji is a stud that works his ass off...........let me say that again, He WORKS his ASS OFF..........Because of that, JT took him to Panama to run the pit with him.......JT didn't even need to take him because the boat already had a full crew.......but he did because Benji EARNED it..........like you, Benji had to start at the bottom. He had to take the abuse as well.....rolling with the punches is half of your job as a new mate. You have to earn their respect, it's not just given to you by showing up. JT told you from the start that he was going to work you like a dog.......full disclaimer and everything. Too bad you didn't jump at that great opportunity.......season is just now getting underway and a new 63' is going to be on its way soon........such a great opportunity.......sorry you gave up on it.
Jared, your a cool kid. Hope it works out for you next time. I didn't bad mouth you at all in this message. Hopefully you will use this as an example and jump at the next opportunity. Good luck! |
